When we asked on facebook what would the residents of Astwood Bank like as community initiatives the overwhelming response was for both flower displays in the Spring and Summer, and then street Christmas lights. So the Astwood Bank Carnival team organised two groups, the Bloom team, and the Christmas lights team.

Thanks to not only the hard work of the small group of volunteers but the massive support of local business and residents, along with grants from both Redditch and Worcestershire County Council, thousands of pounds were raised in a few weeks. So in December 2017 Evesham Road proudly showed off its Christmas lights to both residents and visitors to our community. With more fund raising planned this year the plan is to build on that tremendous start and see if we can ‘Light up the bank’ even more.
